Real Chat with Sean Jankowski

Sean Jankowski is a proud alumni of St. Ambrose University. He is a loyal fan of the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Whitesox, Cyclones and Fighting Irish.  When he’s not busy watching his favorite sports you can find him listening to the Dave Matthews Bank.

PROJECT 375: What is your diagnosis?

Sean Jankowski: My diagnosis is Asperger Disorder, Anxiety and Depression.

PROJECT 375: When you wake up in the morning do you know what kind of day you are going to have?

Sean Jankowski: Well, when I wake up I try my best just to take a deep breath and say to myself, everything is going to be alright.

PROJECT 375: What is your biggest success up until now?

Sean Jankowski: My biggest success would have to be graduating college. Having people doubt my abilities and telling me I can’t do something fuels me to prove them wrong.

PROJECT 375: Is there one common misperception you’ve come across as it relates to mental health?

Sean Jankowski: I think the most common misconception that I’ve come across is that mental health is just a phase, the thought process that he will be better in a few hours, that he will be okay.

PROJECT 375: What’s one thing you are truly passionate about?

Sean Jankowski: It’s hard just to choose ONE thing that I am really passionate about but I would have to say ANYTHING sports related. I especially enjoy talking about sports especially the Chicago White Sox, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks. I want to be a sports broadcaster and work in sports radio.

PROJECT 375: What’s the number one most-played song on your iPod?

Sean Jankowski: The number one song with 557 plays would be Ants Marching from the Dave Matthews Band.
